Default Hardtop Weight

Havn't yet removed the hardtop from my recent 75 vert. I am planning on hoisting it straight up in my garage. How much does the hardtop weigh? I see the hardtop winches advertised but was planning on setting up my own. Anything I should be aware of?

not sure of the actual weight but they aren't that heavy. I used to take the 66's top off by myself just picking it up towards the middle of the top and lifting it off. Putting it back on is definitely a two person job though.

My top, from a 68 weighs 56 lbs without the headliner. Add 11 lbs for the headliner and you get 67 lbs not exactly featherweight. I can walk the thing around hanging in front of me (frontside down, top away from me) but I don't think I will try putting it on or removing it by myeself. The key is finding the center of gravity, there is more weight towards the rear with the rear window and all.

the hard top on my 69 is no more then 50lbs. because of its physical size, its definatly a 2 person job unless you have a hoist that can pick it straight up and drop is straight down.

try weighing it. I did!

Here is how I store my hardtop in my garage. Doesn't take up a whole lot of space, but I guess hanging it from the ceiling would be better.

Here is how I store the headliner - in the basement.. what a mess!
