Steering wheel options
The steering wheel in my 79 has seen better days. I have tilt/telescope and have had problems finding a reasonable replacment. I am on a tight budget so I am looking for a replacment, need not be factory correct. What are my options? Thanks

I completely removed the old cover worn out cover. In retrospect I wish I had not. It is a messy job!
What I would reccomend is triming the old cover back from around the spokes so they won't show when the new cover goes on.
It is made from leather and the kit includes a needle and wax coated nylon thread which insures a really snug fit.
The finished product depends on your skill in sewing
. It is hard to mess up though. The instructions included are straight forward. It cost me $50 and 45 mins of my own time. To buy a new steering wheel and install it myself would be quite a bit more!
