Default E brake HELP needed

The weather in Indy was beautiful yesterday. Dropped the top on the 73 and went for a three hour cruse. Could not have been better until I pulled into the garage. Pulled up on the e-brake and the release button followed by the spring shot out and ricocheted off the windshield. I’m now looking for help with information on repair or replacement.

Mine did the same thing, the button that you push to release the brake is cracked,it doesnt have much holding it in so when it cracks it becomes distorted and wont stay in.I am looking for a replacement but haven't had much luck but someone said corvette central had them just haven't looked yet. I hope this helps.

Corvette central is a strike out. Item discontinued. The button does not appear to be cracked. It looks more like stripped threads. I can push it back in to get the brake to function but it will not stay. Anyone have any ideas?
Still looking for help.
