Default Is 8' high enough?
The rear 30' of my shop has 8' overhead clearance. The front of the shop has 20' overhead clearance. Can I pull the motor from my car with a traditional "cherry picker" in the 8' section? I don't want to have to roll the car back/forth...

you should be able to get it with that. you will have to set the hook pretty close to the top of the motor

Thats plenty of room to pull motor & tranny, just keep your chains/slings short as you can

Use an intake manifold lift plate and connect the hook right to it....no chain needed....

8' should be plenty to get the motor/tranny out... maybe not with the car on jackstands though.
