JoeRags I made some plugs for the bores. The calipers were completely dissembled and the plugs were installed into the face of the bores. Look at the photos were the calipers are disassembled and you can see the plugs I made laying on the table.

Hello, following up on the powder coat topic. I also wanted to mention that when coating a zinc die-cast part ( such as a carb body) be extremely careful. Castings such as these are made using mold halves, closed together and molten zinc induced under high pressure. Under this pressure extreme turbulence is present possibly causing air pockets to develop. These pockets of air could show up in the form of a bump,or blister in the powder coated product. What that may do to a carb body I can only guess. When coating a casted part, whether zinc or alluminum it is best to pre-bake the casting at the temp the coating will cure at when applied. of all my years of coating, a part such as a carb body, even though they look nice powder coated, I would go the resto route which does not induce heat. My 2 cents
