I have read several of the archived posts about painting vettes. Stripping vs. Scraping etc... I am considering painting mine- well doing the prep work at least and letting someone else shoot it. I have never done ANY paint or bodywork but I dont have the funds to have it done professionally. I think that it would be pretty cool to do it yourself and have it come out nice.
1) Who has the best book/documentation on prep/paint work for vettes? I am sure that there must be a lot of them out there.
2) Can this job be done by an average Joe? I have the time and patience already.
Here is a good site with lots of information and help. I'm not affiliated with the site but have purchased the videos. Kevin has had a couple shows on the DIY network.
Glas-ra.com has a good book that is sold by supporting venders to the forum. There are 2 books that describe what is needed to do the bodywork on a C3. Like anything else there will be a learning curve to become profeccient at it. You will be doing lots of sanding believe me. Fiberglass repair work on a C3 is time consumeing endeavor. It is not brain surgery and if you have the patiance the worst you can do is sand it all off and start over again, houstonvett
