egg yoke is acidic but only when exposed for a long time, there shouldn't be a problem with your paint.
Some people...never ceases to amaze. What would bring someone to egg your car. Probably low self esteem and jealousy. People like that should be egged to death
If you don't get it off right away, it will etch the paint, especially in hot weather. If your car was the only one hit, you probably pi$$ed off someone recently...
I washed it off right away, but what can this do to my paint?

it won't do anything if the egg hit the glass. If an egg is thrown and it hits the paint directly, then it can cause damage. The shell is really sharp when it's broken into pieces. So those little pieces will cut into the paint and may cause chips. It easily damages clear coats. BUT, if it hit the window, then you are safe as long as you wash the car thouroghly asap. From the pic, it looks like the impact site was the glass, so I'd would suspect you'll be just fine. Got lucky this time.
Make sure you get it all off as it will eat away at the paint. My son's car was egged and he missed a few spots when he cleaned it off and sure enough took the paint off.
Check first if there is a nest (with birds) located in a branch of a tree above the Corvette. If you dont have that situation then I agree with the other members that the egg was thrown by a jealous kid.
Had the same thing happen on my Chevy Blazer. Sat overnight with the egg on it and by the next day it ate through the clear coat. had to have the hood repainted.
I asked some kids a few years ago to not cut across my yard in the wee hours of the morning. Their response was gasoline on my lawn, twice in one week. Didn't have the Vette then.
