It's time to replace the old BFG TA's on our '78. Have read many of the posts with your input as to Goodyear, BFG and Firestone. Don't want to rehash the whole battle, but would like some noise specific feedback. When comparing the company info on each tire, Firestone makes several comments with respect to their technology reducing tire noise.
Right now, I'm leaning toward the Firehawk Indy 500 tire.
Thanks

I have Indy Firehawks on my '81 and can say I have been very satisfied. Wear is good and they have done well (for a 15" tire) in autocross. Noise is OK. Of course with my flowmasters, engine noise far outweights any tire noise that might be there.

When I was in the tire business, noise was the biggest complaint with BGF radials and Continetnals too. Goodyear has short life but they are quiet. The firestones have all of Bridgestone's technology built into them and if you know anything about the Potenza series that BS has made for years, then you'll see what kind of a bargain the Indy's are.
Spent some time today with long time Firestone dealer. Think I'm about ready to go with the Firehawk Indy 500 tires on our Pace Car. I know, they aren't Goodyear tires, but they do have the Indy 500 name and the Indianapolis Speedway logo that links to the Pace Car history.
Take care

I had Goodyears on my 77 way back in the day and they were quiet and responsive to the road. They did have a short life span and I used them as a daily driver.
Well, after visiting a local mall Corvette show yesterday, think I'm going to fall back to history with respect to what tire do we put on our '78 Pace Car. While it's not "original" since the GY Radial GT tire is no longer made, believe that we'll go with current Goodyear Eagle GT II. I'd been very close to pulling out the debit card for a set of Firehawk Indy 500's.
Thanks for your input.
Take care
