Default Question about deck vents

Should the rear deck vents be operational on a 75 coupe? Mine are completely closed and the grills appear to be for appearance only. Is that the way it should be or were they bubba'ed?

Default Deck Vents

I believe that air conditoned cars have no use for the deck grilles. Just a closed box underneath with drain tubes for water to exit into wheelwells. At least that is what is in my '73. Non air has functional vents for AstroVentallation.

It is an a/c car so that sounds right. Now the second question, I dont have any drain holes and some water pools in the vent grills. Where do the tubes go? I dont see them in any catalogue to order.

Believe that in '75 they sealed them solid, just an intention in the deck that the grill set in. Grills were totaly looks only. Then in '76 or '77 the grill went away totaly.

In my 73 they drain to the wheel wells. If you look in the back storage compartment you should see a rubber hose coming off the sides of them.
