[QUOTE=fotyfobravo]OH YES...... .....I know exactly what "note" the horn plays on a 68 Corvette! It's called a C NOTE ! Plan on seeing some of these leave your account !
Does anyone know what note horns are on a 68 Corvette? I know I need to get a life AL.
There is a place called "The Horn Works" and I'm going to send them out to have them rebuilt. The horns on the car are different as far as the mounting bracket, one bracket has a different clock position and they are welded in position (no nut). As far as note I think one is "D" and the other one is "G". If anyone know anymore please chime in, Thanks, AL.
Al,
You're even sicker than me. That's the kind of question I would normally ask, but I don't know the answer.
Kurt
Kurt, the 68 Corvette used a D and a G note horn. The left horn is a D note (low note) and has a 11 o clock on the bracket and the right side is a G note (high note) and has a bracket in the 2 a clock position. Hope the Corvette community have not thought IDOXLR8 has gone , AL.
They are two differnt notes and for the life of me I can't recall with ones they are. You are right that the horns are spot welded to the brackets and they are oriented so that the horn openings point toward the center and down so that the two notes actually blend.
Ron Goralski (sp) of the Mason-Dixon chapter of NCRS rebuilt and refinished mine for my '69. One of my horns was original and the other was a replacement. The replacement was the right part number but it was not dated but Ron was able to help me with that as well.

Good luck with your horns.
Thanks, as I posted earlier I will be sending mine to The Horn Works unless I get bad feedback or a better place to send them, AL.
The NCRS judges actually judge if the horn is the right note? I would put the Bo and Luke Duke horn in there and give them a real shock at the next show. hahaha

I will need to drill a guide hole for the right side horn because of a new header panel.... Question do tboth brackets hange straight down on both side and the angle of the horn would be in it correct position? I've had this car apart to long (frame off), Thanks AL.
