Default reflectix two layers??

I am putting reflectix on my fire wall inside my car, do you think there would be an advantage of putting two layers? it works by reflecting the heat and does not have an "R" value. what are your thoughts?

As long as your carpet doesn't lay funny due to the extra thickness. My carpet from Al Knoch contained a reflective padding in that area, so one layer of reflectix was fine. Even with stainless headers, the cockpit temps are at least 50% cooler (and the addition of a working heater shut-off valve)

as it has no r value , doubling it will do nothing especially on the inside. with time the temperature of the second layer will be identical to the first. but if you put a layer in the engine compartment there will be a huge reduction of the temperature transmitted to the inside. while you are there. cover the ac evaperator box and wrap headers where they come close to the box and #'s 7 and 8 pipes.(with header wrap). put it on the outside of the tunnel and wherever exhaust comes close to floor. between dynamat and header wrap and insulation i added over 60 pounds to my car. i smile everytime i use the ac.

you used reflectix in the engine compartment? seems like it would melt the inner layer.

I used reflectix on my interior job this past off season. I used 1 layer and it worked well without changing The carpet and how it laid..
