I am seriously interested in buying a 1969 Corvette that's located in Connecticut. I have looked at the car myself but, I am very concerned about the frame condition. The frame looked okay to my untrained eye but, I don't really know what to look for.
The frame had, what appeared to be, normal rust and scaling but I am afraid to make a move only to have a Corvette expert tell me I made a mistake.
Is there anyone in the Connecticut area who would be willing to check the car out for me before I finalize the deal?
Google local Corvette Clubs in that area. Contact members/officers of the club by phone or email for names of members who are mechanics that you can contact. Offer to pay them for their time to assess worthiness of the auto in mind. I made a mistake years ago flying out to see a car that seemed perfect in every way. It was a waste of time and airline ticket. On another so called perfect find on corvettefinders.com I sent a mechanic from a local club. He found the car to be lacking the a/c the owner claimed it had. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT send earnest money for any reason until a local Corvette Club recommended mechanic tells you what he's been looking at.
Good hunting.
Thanks, that's great advice. I just sent an email to the president of the Corvette Club Connecticut to see if he, or another member, can help me out with an inspection.
Hopefully the car won't be sold by the time it all plays out.

If the car is gone, then perhaps it went to someone who did not do a thorough check and he will be left holding the bag (of parts that fall off). I lost $250 sending earnest money to hold a car until it was inspected by the method I posted earlier. Corvettefinders.com won't help, nor will anyone else; believe me, I tried. Sorry to say there are unscrupulous folks out there; some even drive and sell Vettes. Another good buy will be just around the corner.
