Need advice on Engine/Drivetrain
I'm looking to buy a '76 Vette and make it beautiful.
What I want to do before I get the car is layout what I want to do with it. I'm going to do full over cleaning and rebuild on it, so anything goes.
What engine should I drop in this? Crate or Build? I want lots of power, but I won't be taking it to the strip. It'll be a cruisuer around town and outside of town. I want a manual transmission, not sure on 5 or 6 speed.
What I do know is I'm going to put on the Hooker headers and sidepipes. I was also thinking about a blower with snorkel sticking out of the hood, but I think that may ruin the look a little.
I want the best performance for the money, but I'm not afraid to spend it.
Let me know what you would do for an engine, tranny, and rear end.

Got emisions to think about?
A 502? Anyone on this board done it? Is it a painless drop in?
As for building, I've built a couple and my uncle builds 2-3 chevy's a year for his sprint cars. I'm not opposed to building.
