just some thoughts about my interior (dark saddle).
While in mostly good shape, there are a couple rips and tears here and there. the speaker holes in the dashpad are cracked, the pillars on each side are torn at the top, but thats about it. My seats are in good shape but look terrible and almost don't look like they are even the correct color. So they will be replaced.
But...I like the patina of everything. I think theres alot to be said for age. I feel like the original vette parts are improving if ithey are not deteriorating.
And I LOVE that stitching used everywhere. You really get the feel of leather and the appropriate name of saddle.....
anybody have trouble matching their dark saddle colors? Anybody try the Leatherette? Is it close?
If you're buying replacement pieces you will have color variation along with the fading of the original pieces. The way to get consistency is to put a thin coat of interior dye on all the panels. The plastic pieces like the ebrake console and rear compartment frames will look a little darker if you use the black molded aftermarket pieces.
I wouldn't worry a lot about those color variences, even on the original interior, seats, carpet, dash, door panels are slightly different due fading, sunlight and age. mine are original and none match perfectly.
