Default VHT Flameproof on headers

I saw this and wondered if it really would stay on headers.
I've got a set of ceramic coated headers, but it seems to have
come off in a few places (pinholes, etc.) I want to brush them and then
paint over them.

Think this stuff will stay with the header? I'm looking at the silver/alum.
colors, not the fancy colored stuff (gold, blue, etc.)

Anybody tried this stuff?

I used the flat black on mine and wasn't very impressed.

I used the grey on my exhaust manifolds and they still look like new after 3 years. I used a trick I read on their website to spray a can of their white down the inside of each manifold and coat it thick and let it run all through the manifold and that it would help keep the heat on the inside of the pipes and help keep the finish on the outside. It has worked great for my manifolds but I have never tried on headers. Also after painting I baked them in my oven at 450 for 2 hours.

Neat tip (spray on the inside...)

> baked in oven for 2hrs.

Pweeeew! What did the wife say on that.

I like that how they say that. Bake it for a while -- oh, like I've got an
oven in the garage. The wife would never go for it, besides, I like my heath and good food...

I've used VHT in the past, and it lasted about a year. Truth is, NO spray on paint will last on headers for very long; be prepared for constant re-painting.....Jet Hot coating is the solution.

If they are ceramic coated then you may not be able to paint them. Jet-Hot says that paint will not stick to their ceramic coating.
