Sorry about this post...just don't want to throw away $$$$
I put a chrome housing on my alternator...looks GREAT!!
I have the original OEM housing sitting in the box, no bearings, just the shell and fan and pulley...
Does this have any value if I clean it up, say on eBay...or should I just trash it?
Appreciate any comments...

Dont sell, and dont trash....the key word is "stash".
Yer gonna have to learn to hang on to good parts...you will need them later.

Well....I'm a pack rat by nature, but after the divorce, this one bedroom apartment is small...with little "stash" space...
So, I need to stash it because.....????
I have a 77 and a 79 both with wrong alternator numbers. I watch
ebay all the time trying to find correct numbered and dated ones. Oddly
enough the mid to late 70s alternators rarely show up.If its correct for
Your car You had best hold on to it.
OK...so determining the housing number will tell me if it's original OEM equipment....and there is some value to the NCRS crowd if it's stock?
Where would I find the number and how would I determine the validity of it being stock??
OK, chevylit, this is the only number I can find on the
Delco-Remy housing:
1846524
CFD T-1
....which doesn't match your numbers...probably in it's 30 years of life, it blew an alternator and a new one was installed...
So, armed with that info, is there any need to hold on to it...it will never go back on the car, if it's ever sold (unlikely) it'll sell the way it is...
Your advise???
Did a quick search and Your number does not seem to have a C3
application so I reckon its " out with that sucker ". Of course in a
couple of weeks it will turn that it was the last remaining alt. in the
world for a 67 L88 and if You still had it You could retire,at least thats
the way My luck goes.
Was gonna toss the case and decided to put on my glasses and look one more time....THERE IT WAS!! It's an original 76 housing, #1102474 for 61 amp!
It'll be on eBay today....
Thanks all (especially chevylit)
