Hello everyone. I have enjoyed brousing this Corvette forum! I have owned my Silver over charcole '82 for almost 7 years now and have loved it. It is a solid driver needing some work but not a lot. So far I have removed the original CrossFire and built and installed an L98, full dual exhaust from MAD (didn't fit had to have it modified and ended up costing me almost as much as the price of the exhaust). These alone increased 1/8 mi. e.t. from 10 sec. to 8.9 sec. I have replace the carpet, added a new CD player and am currently making plans for new speakers front and rear. It will need new seat covers, or possibly replacement seats as I have seen others here do, and general interior cleaning. I will try to post some pictures, lets see if this works.
I hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoy seeing pics of all of yours!
(Sorry for the size of the pics, will try to figure out how to make them a better size next time.)
All input and suggestions gladly accepted.
Swapped the heads out earlier this year and had to change valve covers. With 1.6 rockers on these heads the Moroso valve covers are the only ones I had that fit. I'll find something better later.
Nice car! Does that car have Slate interior? Can you post a pic?
I don't think it's slate, I believe it's light grey like the '78 PC'c. The seats have original cloth but are badly worn, and currently are clothed with seat covers until I can afford new leather or replacement seats as I don't believe the cloth is available anymore. I'll post some interior pics, but its no show piece yet.
I still need to clean up the engin bay and tidy up some wiring. And I haven't found a suitable location to perminantly mount the ECM yet either. Lots of work but lots of fun too.
Very Nice set up. What did you do with the L-83 that came our of her?
I'm partial to the two-tone cars as well...hey, if you pull the "miss-fire" badges off let me know. I've got a place for them!
Right now the original CrossFire is hanging on an engine stand in my garage, I haven't decided what to do with it yet. All of the original wiring and ECM are still in the car, I thought I'd leave 'em in case a later owner wanted to put it back original. If I repaint the car eventually I might remove the CrossFire emblems. As you all probably know it only takes time and money!
