Started the tear down of my 80 L82. Thought that there were 10 coils on the stock front spring. Mine have seven. No sign of coils being cut off. Thanks in advance for any info. Bob

Bob...from that lil tiny pic on your avatar...your front end does look lowered (and rear).
As Chris stated; somebody must have changed your springs already.
How long are your rear spring end bolts?...because the red unit looks fairly equal front vs. rear.
I dont mean level; I mean equal..as in eye apealing (at least to my old eyeballs)
I recently bought new (aftermarket) springs through Fast Corvette. They are manufactured by Federal Mogul and have 7 coils (pictured here: http://www.fastcorvette.com/FrontSuspension.htm )
I bought the "small block" springs, as my '69 has a 350 w/ a 4 spd. My old (stock) springs have 10 coils. I was considering cutting a coil to reduce my ride height but after comparing the two I'm thinking I won't have to cut anything.
Heres the same pic. From the look of the rest of the bubba--ized fixes looks like stock rear bolts and worn rubber/shocks and rear spring bolts ...etc. If it was modified it was done a long time ago. Never though that the car sat low, just the way it was supposed to sit. Thanks again for the info

Tha pic does make a difference.
Front seems to set quite a bit lower than rear...scratch my "equal" comments in my last post....
Buy two 8" bolts and nuts from Classiccorvettes...put them on the rear.
Measure to top of rear fender using the center cap as a guide on both sides...if I would have to guess...you are probably 28.5 to 29" now.
If it will go to 27.5 or 27...that would help make the look "equal" IMO.
Ok so here is a pic of the front coil, jughead...somewhere between the two in your pics. spring is 3/4" thick and had a part number plastic tab on it which reads BHJ 14021601 . Secondly my front sway bar also looks non stock....measures 1.25" and both end links were bent. (pic)
Besides replacing the end links should I be ordering something other than stock to prevent bending, or should I be looking for another cause of them bending.
Again thanks for any info assistance you can give. Bob
I had my springs out not to long ago. I have a 76 with the FE7, gymkhana optional suspension. My coil springs still had the factory tags on them as well. The FE7 higher spring rates; 7 leaf in the rear and less coils but thicker in the front. Front sway bar I believe was 1 1/8" front and 7/16" in the rear.
The ride height of the car was similiar with either package. My car sits about 28.5" at the wheelwell.
