Here we go, I just got the car I bought last week in the garage, a 72 coupe. It's been sitting since the 80's. the seller started to restore it and had a complete rolling frame for it. Last weekend I started to prepare the body for the lift. Its a big project but I have lots of time.
Ths is where the fun start's I guess.
While taking it apart, take LOTS of pictures. This will help you put it back together when the time comes.
Then take one or two and post them every couple of nights to let us see the progress. Someone might spot something that might save you lots of time, and that alone would be worth the time spent posting.
Thanks I will sure take a lot of pics for the dissambly, the frame is already complete but I'll recheck everything to make sure it's done right. I also got the assembly manual for the car. The book is pretty detailed.
One of the best ideas I had was to use my digital camera as a library for what I am doing with my car. I take photos of everything that I disassemble, so that I can see exactly where things go when I need to put it back together. Its surprising how you can forget about washers, bolts, etc. 2 months after you remove them. With the digital camera, I dont have to print out the photos, just store them on the media. And the zoom function lets me really see what goes where.
