Default Why I hate parking spaces

Hello,
I was blocked in at a grocery store this weekend, and could not leave until the owner of a new Jaguar returned to his illegally parked car so that I could leave the parking lot. That reminded me of the following story....with photos.

I was working on my 72 in the garage, and had to move my 1973 to my designated reserved parking place. Right next to my spot is a visitor spot, but there is enough room to park cars, trucks, SUV's etc.

So I finish up working on the 72, and need to move the 73 back to the garage. The problem is I CANT EVEN GET INTO MY CAR!!!. The person next to me parked at least 6 inches away on the drivers side door. Since I was working on my car, and left the 73 outside, I had the t-tops on, and the doors locked. I cant even get into the drivers side!. The passenger side is up against a wall. I had to wait until the owner came back and drove off. I was inside the house relaxing, and did not see them drive away, I just checked 1 hour later and they were gone.

What is it with people that see a nice car, and decide that they are going to do something to irritate them.

kdf

How am I supposed to get in? And they parked way over the line.

Check out the distance. Thats around 6 inches between cars

These moron's don't see your car as "nice". They look at it, as well as all others, like you or I would look at a telephone or a refrigerator.

So...WE have to be vigilant as to where we park. Don't leave it up to the moron's to decide, cause they'll always make the wrong decision.

Power windows? Open the door, roll the windows down, slide in through the window. However I'm only 5'10 and 135 - 150 lbs. and can slide in and out of situations like that.

Yep...they are over the line...and they would be the first to deny a door chip.

Next time..take a pic and print it out...tape it to their window showing them over the line with a nice note telling them how much you appreciate their inconsideration and lack of courtesy.

BTW--I guess you have a floor jack...could of jacked up the rear end and pulled it out enough to open the door....move both cars out of the way....add brake fluid to the finish of the Jag.

Then deny it.

Ok...dont do that...jack up the Jag and leave it out of the parking space and then call the cops for somebody parking illegally...yeah...not damaging their car sounds so much better when written on a public forum.

hehehe

I had an apartment in san francisco once, nice reserved parking space. neighbors new AH boyfriend parked his pos lowrider moron mini truck in my spot, so I left a very polite note (he also had my bike blocked in). Next night, same deal ( I get in around 3am from work), so I hooked him up to my trailer hitch on my S104x4 and dragged his pos out in the street with the alarm screaming, parked in my space and went to bed. Next morning I had the police to talk to, they gave him a trespass warning, end of story

Obviously, you don't realize how many "special" people there are out there, who don't have to worry about anyone else. Special translates to SH, AH, etc.

I intentionally park my Vette farthest from the doors of where I'm visiting and take at least two spots. Never had a problem. Hate people that do this and that keep creeping closer at stop lights (i.e. Let's see how close I can get without hitting that old car, can't be worth much, right?)!

The story could have ended with a scrape the length of the car. Be glad a jerk is all you have to deal with!

ya, i always park the furthest away from the building.

worst ive seen so far was a small gathering we had at a stores parking lot in the morning. i beleive there where 6 corvettes parked in the back of the lot waiting for others to join in. anyways, were all parked apart from each other, but in the same general area. this old POS van comes cruising along and decides to use the exit thats by us. she zig zags between 4 vettes and comes with in inches of hitting each one of them.... i think every one there was ready to kill her for doing that.

Someone did that to a friend of mine when I was working with him. They had his work truck totally blocked in. My friend is a bit of a nutter and was going to climb in the split rear window and just leave untill he saw someone had spit on his windshield. He figures its the AH driving the car so he cut the top off with a cordless sawsall. Im talking cut the whole top off. It only took him maybe 7-10 mins. After he cut it off he threw it on the back of his truck and took it lol. He didnt want them to "just be able to weld it back on"
There was a bunch of witnesses but nothing ever came out of it.

My father had problems with a jerk and a mini pickup truck when he was living in an apartment many years ago.

He'd had a Yamaha Virago 750 that he used to ride, and an assigned parking spot that he and my mom used to share. He'd pull his bike into the very front of the spot, then have my mom pull in and block the bike in with the bike across the front.

Well, one of the people in his complex hated the fact that he had this bike AND a car that took up only one space. He'd had the bike parked in his spot one night before my mom came home, and this guy who owned the mini pickup moved his bike out of the parking spot and parked his truck there.

He called the towing company, but the guy came and moved his car before the tow truck got there.

2 nights later, the ignition and spark plug wires on his bike were cut and the bike was moved with the mini pickup taking up his parking space.

The next morning the pickup's owner discovered that muriatic acid can completely destroy the hood of a pickup truck.

kind of on a same note as these - why is it when you make an effort to park far and out of the way in a parking lot, when you leave your car, nothing is around and when you come back there are a couple of pos's parked all around your car and the lot still be 1/2 empty
