Engine Setup
I did some reaserch on the engine I currently have in my car.
it comes up as a 350 from a '79 camaro with 170Bhp.
I belive the motor to be stock except for a holley 750 double pumper on a street dominator intake and an electric fuel pump and fan. I am going to upgrade to the MSD HEI distributor and a K&N filter.
I am under the impretion the the heads will not be able to keep up, do I need to get new heads or will a cam make a big difference? I would like to get the most out of this motor without spending more than $6-800 bucks on it. Any Ideas would be apreciated.
I also have heads from a 80-85 350 from a truck... dont know if they would be better flowing, but I cant find a casting nuber on them.

The intake and carb are not right for a stock engine. A performer intake with properly jetted q-jet. pocket port the stock heads with 3 angle valve job, mild performance cam, recurved sitributor, and good flowing exhaust will make a big difference.
