Default What's this AC part called ??

Look at the blue tape on the aluminum tube. I placed it there just to point out where the CRACK is located..... ......No wonder my freon leaked out suddenly after all these years of COLD AC.

What is this piece called and where would you buy it?

Is remove and repair an option??? (heil-somethingorother?)

Both hoses are pre-made and "thread connect".....won't be a bad job if I can just find the correct item.

Thanks for any help....Fred

You have an aftermarket AC muffler/hose assembly. I am hoping the new ones are better made as the ones I bought ten years ago cracked just like yours.

I am checking with Dr. Rebuild on a BB one I need and I would think what they have is the best quality available.

I would look around for a good used original that has a rectangular shaped block where it bolts up to the compressor. They don't have a problem with the aluminum part just with hoses going out. It will probably cost less than the repro.
Those of us with BB AC cars have a much tougher time as the original ones are very hard to find.
