Talk to the hot-rod guys who do this to vintage cars and trucks all the time.

I hope you're short. I'm 6'2" and my head is pretty close to the roof panels on my 77. The highly modified Eagle Talon/Mitsubishi Eclipse seats I'm installing should fix that, if I ever get them done. Passenger side is about 90% welded now.

I think there are places that can cut your windshield to fit

I'd be afraid for the structural integrity once you cut the top of the windshield frame....

i could always just tube frame the pillars and make a custom top (no t-tops) ....just an idea i had...... i can possibly get a donor car for it and start there.... only issue is space and so other things.....but i think it would be cool.... i would get alot of heat but who cares....... i'll research a bit more and talk to a few hot rod guys..... i still have to finish a few things on my 77 anyways

1975. I see plenty of bubble-backs converted to verts, it gets discussed here from time to time.
