Default corvette summer car

anyone ever see in person the rhd vette from the movie, let alone drive it? is there any performance to that car, or is it all show. That ghetto steering system, as seen on the mid america sight, can't be that good. When I saw the movie years ago I fell in love with that car.

I believe the car now belongs to one of the major Vette vendors though I can't remember which one. I asked this question long ago and someone told me but I have forgotten. Maybe you coud do a search and I bet you will find the answer along with pictures. I liked the car back then....not so much now. I seem to remember seeing the pics and thinking it looked rather tired looking.

I seem to remember reading an article about how abysmal the car was to drive as well. Anyone rember that? It may have been an interview with Mark Hamill, so take that with a grain of salt.

Oh here is a link to some interesting info:

http://corvette.cabbagestew.com/faq.html

and here:

http://www.corvettemagazine.com/2000...r/summerp1.asp

Corvette magazine talks about how bad the car was to drive. Apparently the car was right hand drive with the steering box still on the left side all hooked together via a Harley Davidson motorcycle chain. This is the article I remember.

Well if you really love the car buidl one. ALL PARTS to make your vette into it are on ebay. This one guy just deals in selling parts to copy the corvette summer corvette. He has the body kit, and then has links and a list olf all the other parts you will need, including the pipes. I forgot the seller but i know he deals on ebay.

This car is just a styling expression some people call art. But then again, they call The Donkey Show in Tijuana, Mexico 'art' also.

One has to apprecite the effort put into the car though, even if it is hideous and mis-shapen.

If you changed the front end and hood back to original, it would be a nice car.

As funky as it looks now that was pretty standard for 70s hot rodding/customs.

just thinking of all those 60/70 designs that were around at the time means were getting old....those designers were what Foose is today.
