Default Moroso oil pans

Hey All,

I'm looking to pick up a 6 qt moroso oil pan with a kicked out sump for my 454. Is anyone aware of any clearance issues with these pans?

Specificially I'm looking at this pan
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...chItemId=21101

Also, is the oil pickup required? The sump depth on this pan and the stock pan both appear to be 8".

Thanks

Hey Main 427HOTROD would be the person to direct this question to. He has gone through a bunch of them and have the results of the pans as well.

Also you can try Norval as he has done some pan modifcations and who knows maybe he could throw one together for you.

You might even try a search for oil pan and 427HotRod as he did have a long post about this very question of yours as well.

Here you go Main http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...hlight=oil+pan

I'm using #20403.

Moroso Street & Strip pan:
Kicked-out sump design for increased oil capacity. 8'' deep for maximum ground clearance. Trap door baffle keeps oil in the pickup area. Built-in scraper quickly removes oil from rotating assembly and a uni-directional windage tray screen helps it drain into pan. Accepts up to 4.250'' stroke w/steel rods and 4.090'' w/aluminum rods.
Although I used a Melling's M-77 oil pump, the recommended oil pumps are - Stock oil pumps or Moroso BBC race pump P/N 22150 (Std.. volume race), 22160 (High volume race), 22162 (Blueprinted high volume) - Pickup P/N 24440

I updated the oil pan on the RamJet 502 to gain ground clearence. With only ~3.5" the stock 6 quart pan, was an accedent waiting to happen. I used the 7 quart Moroso pan MOR-20413. It has worked out great for me. I was able to keep the stock setup windage tray and only had to change the oil pickup.
