Window regulator?

Window regulator?
I need the gear for my power window and I see they offer the complete gear or the repair portion of the gear. Is their any reason to get the whole gear or just the section of the regulator gear with new teeth?

I have an old regulator that the spring is shot but you may be able to use the gear if you know how to take them apart. The spring will need to be cut off. You can have it for shipping if you want it. PM if interested and I'll get some pics for you.

Thats kindof what I was needing to know is how hard they are to dissassemble. The replacement teeth just go on the old gear with three screws. But to remove the gear from the regulator assembly looked more difficult. I'll let you know after someone chimes in with how hard the assembly is.

if you have a welder at your disposal even better yet.
i have had no problems with mine except for a little rubbing which i hit with the dremel.
