Default Quick Repair Q's!

Hello guys, I'm new here. I am a proud owner of a 1976 vette', and she is my baby. The car has been running well since purchase, after tossing on a refurbished carb. and getting some new brakes put in, yet I have a few questions regarding the interior.

My driver side lock **** was missing, so I bought a re-placement, but am unfortunately inept enough to not know how to properly put on the thing, any advice? (It is just a small metal bar that turns currently) I thought it was just press on and turn, but it doesnt stay, I might be missing something.

Also, in searching for a hub or plain replacement steering wheel for this year, I have come up empty handed, figured because of the vega origins, anyone have any other ideas of where to turn for such a switch, past eckler's and C.A.? Their listed wheels and hubs do not fit the '76's bolt configurations

Thank you in advance for any and all help.

It's a pretty standard "horseshoe" shaped clip that slides into those two notches on the shaft.

For the door lock clip it is a C shape, or horseshoe shaped clip.
You can get a small package of various size clips at most automotive parts store for around $3.00 a box .

When you put it on, align the horizontal part level with the door panel inserts to make it look asthetic. You might look at the other side for reference. One thing to make a not of is what side the closed end is pointing for future removal notes.
