People do what people do - I have not found one street legal replacement header for my 1981 coupe. If people "true" dual these vettes out and don't use cats that's between them and the emissions police once they get stopped by a cop - who knows his business and does a little checking under the hood. Granted they are few and far between but years ago my dad got a ticket for glass pac mufflers.
I will state again "removing any part of the Federally Mandated Emissions System is illegal.
If someone "true dualed" your car out and you bought it that way - I am assuming you had to get it inspected? Did it/does it have to pass an emissions test?
If you like to gamble - 9 out of 10 Emissions Techs don't know the law and don't care - all they care about is moving the next car down line and waiting on that 5 PM closing bell.
Chances are good that you can slip through the cracks and do whatever you want to your car and not get caught.
Do you have a true dual system? Two cats or no cats? Do you have an emissions test to pass. How tough is your state inspection?

Thanks again for your response...... Again, I "true dualed" my car, no cats, and all I asked is if the A.I.R. could be removed. Apparently not, no problem. I live in the same state you do.
