After only a couple of weeks of searching, I finally found my 82. It's a numbers matching car and it only has one flaw. The seats were replaced with vinyl, which looks pretty good but just isn't leather. Well, after a few months, if nothing else more important pops up to be fixed, I'll get new seats.
I also bought a car about 2 miles from my house.
One Saturday I drove 2.5 hours to look at a piece of junk 1974 for $8500 which I passed on, and then spent 2.5 hours driving back home.
On Sunday I found a sweet 1975 for $7500 only 5 minutes drive from my house. Sitting in a Public Storage parking lot with a for sale sign.
Good luck with your vette. Drive it for a while, do the basic checks like oils, fluids, brakes, and check that things are tight. My 75 had 3 out of the 5 lug nuts loose on the rear left wheel. Check those things, then go for the upgrades.
Thanks guys. Yeah, I am not going to do anything other than regular maintenance work to it for the first 6 months, then if everything is still in working order, I will spend some money on cosmetic items like new leather seats (take the vinyl out) and maybe new carpet (still in decent condition though). T-Tops need new seals but otherwise, the vette is in great shape.
P.s. I will never live the "Ridge" thing down, huh?
