Default heat shielding/insulation

The wife and I took the vette out for a ride of about 100 miles. Since it was 90 degrees out, the floor area heat was almost unbearable. Does the plain heat shielding I see on ebay work?

What about the foam insulation made for the console? Should I get both?

not sure whats on ebay, but zero clearance works very....also make sure your water heater shut off valve is working or put in an auxillary one

Do a forum search for this problem - it's one of the most commonly asked questions. Reflectix is the answer.

I used reflexit bought in Lowes for about $15 a roll and I went to my local speed shop an he gave a heat shield that glued under the floor pan over the exhaust .this helped a lot..also make sure all the firewall holes are pluged

81 has a valve on it. Its vac operated and mounted in one heater hose in front of the firewall on the pass side. Make sure it works before you button it all up. I would HIGHLY recommend useing Reflectix or something before carpet. and make sure the firewall is all sealed up and the plenum on the pass side behind the kick panel too.
