Thanks for the info. Sounds like his parts are okay if you get them. I have a friend going to Bloomington , I'll have him try to buy the parts there. Thanks again for the replys Bob
This vendor was at Carlisle last August and had the correct coil I was looking for. He had the coils wrapped in paper as I recall and he was not very happy about having to open them to show. I got the feeling that he felt his work should not be questioned or like he wanted me to buy something site unseen. Very strange. I ended up finding the coil I needed for about a third the price. I would use him as a last resort mostly because of price and poor warm and fuzzy factor.
(WFF= Price X Cheerfulness of seller) Basically the amount of stroking I need is proportional to the outrageousness of the price.
I bought a starter from him for my '68 427 at spring Carlisle a few years back. He didn't have the numbers I wanted at the show so I paid for him to ship it to me. Overall, I thought he did decent work but was a bit slow about the delivery. His promised two weeks of turnaround was more like 6 weeks. I could tell he wasn't thrilled about my hounding him by phone at about the 4 week mark, but he DID eventually deliver with a quality product. Considering what cores were going for on ebay for the numbers I wanted, his price wasn't out of line for a completely restored starter and he didn't require a core from me.
