Must tell y'all, after driving my 76 for 30 years and most of that time a daily driver, I have had to do a bubba repair a time or two. Thank you, I feel better now!
I think it's fine to do a Bubba once in a while as long as you recognize it as such. It's the folks who do Bubba repairs and it's the natural thing for them that is scary.
Come on BlackCorvette, give me a break. Remember, this is an every day driver. Tomorrow I'm driving the ole girl to Michigan from Texas with A/C, radio, clock and all the gauges working. I mean I'm not talking about radical bubba repairs, but keep the zip locks handy!!

There are many bubbas here... they just don't know it... hehe...
From: Minnesota in the summer, Las Vegas in the winter
How is Bubba defined? I would say it is anyone who fixes a problem on their car with less than reasonably acceptable outcomes. From time to time that would include most here including me. Yes, I am Bubba. Bubba is relative. I have been taking the Bubba out of my two corvettes for a long time now. And I realize that, perhaps, the repairs done by the owners at that time may have been the best they could manage, given their skills, tools, and budget.
I have repaired several items on my 72 that, given more money and skill, could have ended better. I do the best I can with the tools and budget I have. Does that make me Bubba? I suppose it does to someone with superior skills and deeper pockets.
So I will continue to curse the Bubbas who went before me. At the same time I will try to improve my abilities in the hopes that, in the future, I will not be referred to as Bubba. The learning curve is a sharp one, isn't it?

76 I was not trying to knock what you did, you have had your car for a long time and I'm sure you will have it longer.. What I ment was.. you have a car, it has a problem you do a quick "bubba fix" then sell the car before how you fixed it breaks again, knowing it won't last and you don't tell the new owner. Those are the "bubba repairs" that I don't like.
