Cool, thanks for the reply!Scott
What would happen if you would ever try to sell the car? Someone would ask you what kind of paint is on it. I don't think they would be impressed when you tell them what it is. If an enthusiast/collector looks at the car, he will see that it's not the right color. He would offer you less money because he'll figure what it would cost him to strip it and paint it right.

not everyone sees the c3 as way to make a profit.

lets see,
take a car that's worth 10K and put a $100 paint job on it. Sell it for 8k. Oh well.

Sell it for 12k. In my book that's a fools game.
Lowbuck- I also like your attitude and enthusiasm for a job that you feel is well done. Some will agree, others disagree, all for good reasons. But the car is yours, and you're making it your own and making it better.
Last weekend I had the joy of finding that the Rustoleum bright red rattle can is a damn good match for my car. I repainted the headlight surround pieces in about 12 minutes, sanding included, and they look pissa!
The fact that the job cost me $4.39 and 12 minutes pleases me more than any perfect restoration possibly could.

ExploreNo worries, mate...I know of several of us have engines and high-dollar paint work that far exceed the value of their Vette. It's kinda like the difference between eating steak or hamburger. Both will fill your belly, but which one would you rather have? (I wonder if Twin Turbo will ever recoup his investment in his Vette
). Don't take this too seriously.....it is the difference that keeps this place alive!

some c3's, lets face it mid 70's on aren't worth a whole lot unless you got a 78 BB pace car. I think the 81 4-speed will take off soon, last year of the manual.Originally Posted by turtlevette
