Can Someone Give Me Instructions On How To Install A Passenger Side Mirror For a 1973?
THANKS!
If your car doesn't have a mirror already, you might have to drill holes.
Mine only has a driver side rear view, I was thinking of installing a passenger side mirror for safety.
Got the assembly instruction manual (AIM)? RH mirror installs exactly like the left except on the opposite side. Most of the metal mirrors mount with barrel nuts. The scary part is drilling the holes in your fiberglass door. Sport mirrors have studs in the bases and bolt on from inside the door.
You will need to drill two holes in the door. Insert well nuts into the holes and mount the mirror bracket to the well nuts. The place the mirror on the bracket and tighten one screw into the bracket. The location of the holes to be drilled will be on a templete that comes with the mirror kit. The kit will include the mirror, mounting bracket, screws and template. The well nuts are available at most hardware stores: Lowes is where I get mine.
If you already have the mirror, the template is available separately. Eckler's has sent me one in the past, and I think CorvetteFaq has a scan of it. If not, it's in the archives here.

My mirror came with the nuts and everything to install it. Ordered it off KEENS but I think the Ecklers and others from the big vette shops are all the same.
