brought my car to my friends paint shop today, I was just going to paint the jambs and the insides of the doors. he said lets just paint the whole rear clip then there will be no paint lines where the jambs were taped off, so here it is. it is a martin senour tri coat custom color. it looks like all the time I spent filling and blocking out this body paid off. it is really straight. this is about an hour after the last coat.
because I have to hang the doors to be able to fit the new front clip, I mainly just wanted to have the jambs painted, this was his idea and he is painting it for me for free. I only have to pay materials. so I will do it his way. we have been friends for over 20 years, I help him and he helps me, works out well.
Do yourself a favor....go to the paper and scratch some of the paint.
Get that aout of the way.
See; Murphys law says scratch new paint...it just doesnt specify if the new paint is actually on the car body or not....so cratch the paint on the paper!!!
see....
My brain works on occasions!!!
Looks awsome Mark....I like that color!
You'll probably be done before I get to your house!!!...lol

thanks for all the replies. the color is a little darker than the picture shows. I will take pictures this weekend in the sun. I get it back tomorrow, He just loads it on his rollback wrecker and brings it back to my house. it has had 2 rides so far hope to get the wrecker rides out of its system early. having trouble sleeping tonight
here are a few pics I took just playing around to get an idea of how it will look. it is hard to capture this paint color with a camera because of the flash. it is a tri coat color, the base is actually a plum / pinkish color. that scared the cr@p out of me when it went on, then there are 3 coats of maroon tinted clear then 3 coats of regular clear. it sometimes can get a plum looking color in the sunlight but is almost maroon in lower light colors. I did not know it would do that when i picked the color but it is actually sort of . It is definitley a unique color and the more I look at the more I like it. here are some pics with the light saddle interior pieces.
