Yesterday my youth group was putting on a BBQ chicken fundraiser at church. We were out cooking in the parking lot most of the afternoon and I had a few of the young men from the group out helping. We were standing there shooting the breeze when what drives by, a cherry looking C1. It was black with white coves. I didn't get a good look at it but I'd put it in the late 50's. Two of the boys I was standing there with went NUTS and I was speechless because it was beautiful. Now they're familiar with my Vette and always ask if they can buy it or drive it. I said, "Do you know what that was?" They answered, "No but I want one." I gave a little chuckle and said, "Gentlemen, that...THAT was a Corvette and a beautiful one to boot." I love getting to educate people in the glory of America's Sports Car especially the younger crowd. Just thought I'd share. Have a great weekend!
It's fun to educate kids on old cars. Last week I locked my son's 70 mustang (you know, the old way by holding in the button) and he was like "how did you do that w/o a key?"
These days you just push the lock button on the remote.
Hey Rick,
I'm doing great! Trying to stay out of the heat. We're already in the triple digits here. I just got the '75 fired up last week. Motor back in, trans rebuilt, wheels/tires, etc. It doesn't look too good yet(body, interior) but it's running real nice. Eleanor likes the convertible so she says this one is going to be hers. I said OK, pick a color 'cause it needs paint. She's gone through every color chip book I've got and still can't decide I think she still likes the color of your '70 best. I said "no way , you have to pick something different" I hope she doesn't choose "Barbie Pink".
We need to get together pretty soon. Are you going to the Pomona swap meet at the beginning of June? Maybe we could hook up for lunch???
Keep in touch,
Greg
