Default Update with pics

I finally got to drive my 81 (I made two laps around the school parking lot across from my house) I bought from 81c3 way back in late Feb. or early March. He began the rocker channel replacement and I paid him so I could finish it. This was to be my daily driver at the time I purchased it but now I have a pickup to drive in bad/hot weather so the goal was to get the car mobil enough to make the five mile trip to our new (to us) house on June 6, looks like I will make it. I still have a lot to do and some of this has been done as mock-up and will be finished after we get settled.

Here is what I have: 4 bolt 350 bored .30 over, edl rpm intake, speed demon 650 vs, xe268 comp cam, flat top pistons, rebuilt l98 heads, Maddog 700r4 stage 2 with hydraulic lockup and 2400 stall convertor, Tracdogg rebuilt rear, new front bearings, rebuilt trailing arms, all bushings were changed. Cut one coil from front springs and added 10" bolts to rear. I am sure I am forgetting something. My idea was to change anything that is unreasonably hard to change with the body on or on the side of the road. For instance I will keep all the brake hardware that came on the car until it needs changing. Here are a few pics, this is my first attempt at pics without the help of my wonderful wife.

These were taken the day I received the car. The body was just set back in place for transport.

The next weekend the body came back off.

Chasis just before reinstalling the body. I know the mufflers don't go there!

Engine compartment now.

Thanks to everone who has helped me out on this especially: gator79, carl a, bobs77vette and everyone else for posting useful information. More updates later this summer.
