Rearend rebuild?

Rearend rebuild?
I have known since recieving the vette that I would need a new rearend. My question is would it be cost effective to have it rebuilt or just order a reman one from ecklers for around 800+core? Also what other components should I plan on purchasing to have installed when the rearend is out to save on labor down the road. Such as what bushings bearings, springs or other wear items should be replaced. The car is a 79 l48 w/41k original but only about 1k miles since 81. Also what shocks springs and type of bushings offer the best combo of handling and comfort?

I had my diff. rebuilt by Mike at Classic Corvette parts in Garland TX. He is Tracdogg here on the forum. While your at it change your bushings in the diff. crossmember, front diff. bushing, strut rod bushings. You may even want to change your trailing arm bushings and wheel bearings while your at it. That "while I'm at it" is what gets you on a project. I have Mike's contact info at home. Pm me if you want it. His prices on all the aformentioned work beat everyone's.
