Default 1975 Stingray

Greetings! I am new to the 'Vette community. Just bought my first one. A '75 Stingray. It has a "20 foot paint job" which is actually pretty nice and it runs very well. I'm haveing a problem with a couple items. I took the stering wheel off to replace the turn signal cancel cam as well as rebuild the horn but was unaware that there was an additional piece that I needed. Just got that but now can't remember how it goes back together. Yea...I know...dumb move. Should've taken pictures as I went. Does anyone out there have or know where to get a diagram for this? Also, when I bought it, the AC compressor had been taken off for the engine rebuild. I have the compressor but there seems to be some parts missing maybe and we can't figure out how to put it back in. I pose the same question as the stering wheel. Sorry so long winded. Can anyone help?
Thanks,
skyrat

Order the assembly instruction manual (AIM) for '75. The AIM has illustrations of how the steering column went together. While you're at it, order a reproduction '75 owner's manual if your '75 did not come with the original.

Google Corvette Central and look up steering. In order to aid in parts selection they often have blow ups of multi piece components. I used it to rebuild my steering column. Consider it a poorman's online diagram. Or maybe a cheap skate's.

Its a paint job that looks good from 20 feet away.....looks nice but on closer inspection may have a few blemishes and chips etc....

never feel silly asking questions, we all have to learn and its the best way.

Congrats on your first vette!
As far as the steering column rebuild, Jim Shea is your man, check for his posts on the forum or checkout www.corvettefaq.com and look at his papers there. AC, not sure...someone will chime in...

As for the paint do what i did. Get a tub of Mothers rubbing compound for paint,Wash the car extremly good and start buffing, then get GM color paint fixer. Fix the chips, then wax it. Took mine from a 20 footer to a 10 footer, maybe even a 5 footer.
Here are some half half pictures. I used a wet clean rag, and my hand. I didnt use a power buffer. Just my hand.
