68 Ignition Switch Bezel Question

68 Ignition Switch Bezel Question
The black ring (bezel) that fastens the 68 ignition switch to the panel, needs a special tool to unscrew. It looks like it needs what I'd call a spanner socket to screw the black ring on and off. The ring has an ID of 1.00 inches. The ring has four slots (every 90 degrees) for the spanner tangs to fit into.

A lot of times on nuts like that, also found on power antenna masts, I usually try to use a needle nose pliers spread out to match two opposite grooves, then turn the pliers to loosen it. Might not work on that bezel, haven't ever really seen a '68 switch.
