Default power antenna install Question

I have a 76 and want to change out he fixed antenna. don't see a connector on the main wire coming out of the antenna, but my new one has about 5' of cable and a male connector on the ned. I fgure the stock radio won't accept the power wire that moves the antenna when it's turned off and on but maybe someone out there knows how to do this.

Has anyone done this and can you give me some basic instructions?

Thanx!

You can go after market and do some bubba engineering to make it work. Or you can go buy a 78-82 OEM style antenna for $125-$170, Antenna wiring harness kit for $25.00, buy an antenna relay for ???? depends on where you get it seen them on ebay form $20-$200.00. Then you will need the siring harness that goes from the relay to the radio which should cost around $20.00. Your radio may or may not have a place to connect the harness. you can always buy an original 78-82 radio of ebay that will work thos e range form $35.00-$300 depending upon whether it is just am/fm, am/fm 8-track, am/fm cassette or the ETR version. I have a source for all of these componets if your still interested after calculating the cost. I also have an antenna relay that I would be willing to part with.
