I was having dinner with a friend who is a Mercedes guy, but he told me he had seen earlier today a 69 big block for sale within a few miles of my house. Said it had matching #s and about 70k original miles. Seller is asking $22k. Obviously something is not right but I thought I'd check it out tomorrow. If the selling price is accurate, how many things should I be willing to overlook? If the #s match it is probably a restamp. Doubt if mileage is original. But what are the deal breakers I should be aware of? And I know the old adage that "if it seems too good to be true....." Thanks guys. BTW I have an 05 and a 1960, so this would probably not be something I would hold onto for long if I got it.
22k for a 69 Big Block is a great price. The factor in pricing is original engine in car, coupe or vert, original or modified, overall condition,is it a 390,400,or 435 HP or is it a put together POS.

The deal breaker is the frame condition. Start there. If it's no good, pass on it. If everything appears correct you will have to determine how much work it needs and factor that into the price. $22,000 is cheap for a big block but not if it needs $25,000 worth of work. Take your time looking it over even if the seller gets irritated. Good luck.
