I was told that if you have an engine block number that ends in 010 that it means that the engine block is a four bolt main. I have a 75 with a L48 engine two bolt main but my engine block number ends in 010. Does anyone know about this?
I think that is a urban legend. Your vin tells you if it is a L-48 or L-84 as does the block. CKC for a L-82 auto and I believe CKX for a L-48 auto. The L-82 was a 4 bolt main, the L-48 a 2 bolt main.

010 = 4 bolt? Nope, not always. The 3970010 block has several Corvette uses; some four bolt (L-82), some two-bolt (L-48). Engine code stamped on the pad would be the best identifier.

...exactly right. My '74 L-48 195hp motor is a "010" block and is two bolt. The "010" '73 Impala motor in my '68 convertible is a two bolt. The original "010" out of my '75 L-82 coupe is a four bolt.
