Our supplier of copper cores just doubled our price! Today's USA today newspaper (money section) will explain why. Since June 2005 copper cost has tripled, from $1.23/lb to 3.66 today and climbing. It might take a while to work it's way down to the final user (you) but it wouldn't surprise me to see copper rads selling in the $400-$500 range real soon. Aluminum radiators won't look that bad then
Reported on the evening news a few nights ago, a fool trying to steal copper wire cut into a cable carrying 12,000 volts
Gods way of cleansing the gene pool............

Used to sell a lot of comms eqpt to Africa & there were always problems with links going down. Invariably it was because the link had been cut down/dug up & weighed in as scrap metal
I read last month that China is now using more copper than the US & Japan combined. That's probably caused the price hike. I'm going to do my bit for our economies by boycotting special fried rice & chicken chow mein. That'll show 'em

You're gonna have to do a lot more than that; have you seen all the crap in Home Depot? ALL of it is made in China. They're selling stainless steel grilles for $269, when they should probably be $700. Made in China with slave-labor wages. In less than a decade, we have unraveled the last 100+ years of the American industrial revolution, by allowing China to flood us with their goods. We are to blame!
I read in this mornings paper about two yayhoos getting arrested on the site of a hotel renovation project for carrying off $1500.00 worth of old copper pipe,,,funn y huh, but not as good as the jackass who electrocuted himself ,,,Peace,,,Moosie

Last week we had copper/other precious metals thefts from the local power company with damages in excess of 2 million dollars. A band of thieves broke into a soon to be operational substation and dug up and stripped all the copper in the area. Its a very messy situation.
We also have homeless people going into the closed gas station bathrooms ripping the copper from the walls to resale. Its hotter than gold right now.
Geeze....I gotta stop throwing away pennies...
Theyre worth more recycled than face value
If they are the old pennies your right, pre 1982 pennies are worth around 3 cents each in scrap. Post 1982 are made of mostly zinc and not worth scrapping.
