It's a long shot,

I'm trying to track down the history of a 69 red/red vette I'm restoring. It came to Oz from the Las Vegas area, and has a Green Valley High School parking permit for 90-91.

It had a 74 nose but still had the gills. May not have had a motor when it left the USA in 1996.

Any help would be welcome. Would be great to make contact with previous owners Joe

PS: The VIN# is 194379S727968

That parking sticker is a great clue. 1990 wasn't all that long ago. If you are serious about the research I would contact the high school (Google is your friend) and see if the principal or anyone remembers the car. You might try the Classmates website and contact people who graduated from Green Valley HS in 1991 or 92.

Hey Joe,
How many Vettes does this make for you now?
Was your friend happy with the big block roadster?
Best,
Greg

PRNDL
- thanks that is a great idea. I've got contact details for the Green Valley High School via Google.

I'll send some emails tonight!

Greg,

Ken is very happy with the 70. It's in my shop now getting RHS park brake hardware and rear wheel bearings but otherwise good as gold!

I'm just finishing off "Lazarus" should be road registered next week! I still have the white big block 69 and my 78 Silver Anniversay is currently in the paint shop. Great to hear from you! Trust all is well with you. Have you started any new projects?

Cheers,
Joe

Thanks for the pics Joe. The car really looks great. What a difference from the last pictures I saw a year ago!
I sold the white '70 350/350 to a real nice fella up in Santa Barbara. I think it has a perfect home up there and the guy loves it.
I was really going to take a break from the Vettes for a while (honest, this time I was) but I went by my buddies machine shop and he had a real tired looking '75 4 speed convertible sitting out front that had just been towed in.
I asked what was up, he said it belonged to a customer that had parked it a couple of years ago and didn't know what to do with it now but he was thinking about having it restored.
Long story short, I bought the car before he did anything to it.
I brought it home and Eleanor decided after 45 or 46 different vettes that she wanted to keep this one for her. So..........
I just put the motor back in last week, got the Super T10 rebuilt too. Fired it up and it runs and drives great. I'll be doing the cosmetics next as well as brakes, bearings suspension, etc. It's currently yellow with the saddle interior and a black soft top, all of which need re-doing so I told her to pick whatever color combination she wants and we'll do it.......but it's like shopping for shoes for her. After viewing all the paint chip books she just can't decide on a color!
The car spent its whole life here in the southwest so it'll be a pretty easy restoration. Still has the original blue plates, power windows, tilt/tele, air conditioning, AM/FM and when I went to the seller's house to pick up some extra parts he said he had...... there was the hard top for it too!
I'll send you some pics of the project/progress.
Best,
Greg
