The VTX is more akin to a C5 than a C3. Test drive before you buy. My son's buddy has one. Those VTX motors feel unatural for a V twin, they kinda chug, rather than gallop. My son has a Roadstar Warrior and is bigger, meaner and faster than a VTX, but it raps like a V twin should, he also has a Z06. I ride an Electra Glide Sport, what it lacks in speed, it makes up in class... like a C3.

Your last sentence says it all, amazing that some guys still feel that way , Peace,,,Moosie
I know RollingThunder used to have one. I am thinking about picking one up. C3 and a VTX. I guess you could call that a BB bike.
Still have the VTX and still like it. With the Vance & Hines pipes she sounds just fine and will drag an HD up the road backwards. Oh, I also have an '05 HD Electra Glide Ultra Classic. Comparing the two bikes, the VTX is more like my C5 and the HD God love it, is more like my pickup truck.

Glad to see you back on Dave. It has been a while. Have you had any problems with the VTX? I am going looking today and may wind up riding one home if it strikes me just right.
Thanks Eddie, it's good to be back. I don't think you'll be disappointed with a VTX. I have had no mechanical issues at all. Don't get me wrong, I love my Harley, but the VTX is just an awesome and totally different (refined) machine.
I have laid low on saying anything about my RT project for fear of jinxing it (or more aptly) my health and ability to stick with it. Yes, I am working on it some almost every day. It is finally taking shape and if all goes well it go to the painter this summer. It looks rough to say the least since I'm still doing the glass work, but it is all coming together as planned. I hope folks that aren't offended by custom Vettes will enjoy it.
you have a american car, you should look at the new american motorcycle, Victory. the new Jackpot and the Hammer are sweet, but if you're not into fat tire bikes then the Kingpin is the closest thing to the ride of the VTX. but the biggest advantage just like the honda is, they don't BREAK DOWN or LEAK like some other brands. and did i mention they are american made.

They had a sweet 05 Spec 3 1800R in Candy Red that I walked away from yesterday. I told my wife about it and made her go out and look with me today at a different shop. This new shop did not have any 1800's but a couple was out front on thier pair of 1800s. One was an 1800R in blue, same bike, different color and a few years older. On the way home she said "Call and get the Candy Red 1800, it'll be fun!!"
So, I made a call to the salesman I was talking with yesterday. He was with someone and is supposed to call me back.
you could always drop 75k on a boss hoss custom which in case you didnt know is a bike equipped with your choice of 350, or 502 cu. chevy motors!!!!!!!!
The Vtx is a nice bike, but I still like my Harley! This one don't leak! This is one redlines at @10,000rpm!I just added a power commander and opened the pipes.(Even stock I have never been dragged anywhere by a VTX!)I think that Honda builds a great bike though and I have seen a few VTXs that would boogie! They are gettin the look down too!But if your gonna spend the money, check out the V-ROD.(Besides Honda is gettin almost as proud of their bikes as Harley, without the resale!)I looked for a long time and spent my life on *** bikes.(From KZs to goldwings to ninjas ect,.)I was not always a Harley fan,(I used to call them overgrown briggs and strattons!)But they have greatly improved their bikes since the AMF years.Well of all that I have tried and owned, this one does it all!!(For me!)Hope you find a bike that suits you!!
