Does anyone have any comments or experience regarding Corvette Repair Manuals on CDs.
I see lots of them on e-bay and they seem to be 15-20 bucks. I read a few comments that said they locked up a guy's computer (might have been his computer at fault) but also read lots of positive feedback and I was wondering what you all thought of these. I have all the books and factory manuals and AIM, etc but thought I might try one of the CDs just to get into the 21st century.
Any thoughts, suggestions or comments?
Thank you,
Kurt
Batman,
Can I assume that if indeed they are pdf scans, I can still print an individual page if I want to and carry it over to the car when I'm working on it without any special printing procedure or software?
Thank you,
Kurt
I have a .pdf scan for my '71 AIM. It's okay to look at and nice to have, but I use the real book to find stuff. I suppose there's a place for both versions.
Yes, you can print out individual pages. They're no better than the original scan though.
I bought an assembly manual on cd, it took forever to get here from canada. The print quality is just fair, the real book would be a better resource. JMO.
You were all correct and I learned a lesson.
CD arrived today, just pictures of maintenance manual (no repairs) and didn't even cover my specific model year although the advertising said it did.
Totally useless, hard to find anything, book is far easier to use, and covers much more.
Total cost $16.00 ,, $7.50 for CD, $7.50 for shipping (envelope had printed weight on it of 2 ounces so probably total postage cost was 78 cents) and $1.00 insurance.
I am reminded again that often in life "You get what you pay for"
Bought a service manual on cd on ebay for my '98 Honda Civic for $5.00. It is over 2000 pages. The 10 pages of OBDII codes was worth it alone. But you'll probably spend a lot more than that in inkjet cartridges printing the pages you need. But for good old getting greasy, A Haynes manual and a quality wiring diagram can't be beat.
