Default help removing center console

Just got a 76 couple of weeks ago to join my 92 coupe in the ol' geerage. I am needing to take out the center console to remove the clock and either see if I can fix it or swap it out for a quartz.
After removing the screws and the two nuts on the studs at the bottom center, what is the best way to wiggle this thing out without causing the console to snap in half??
And what is the best option for the clock, suggestions???
Thanks ahead of time..

I believe there might be two "hidden" screws under the radio that are still holding the console in place. Did you find those?

I removed the nuts from the studs that are connected to the console
(I believe they are connected to it), the two at the very bottom of the center console.

I am not sure if you have to remove the wiper switch plate and air conditioning vent. By now you realized that it has to come up about an inch due to the studs on the bottom.

As for the clock, you can try and repair it. There is a set of contacts like points. Perhaps cleaning them with fine sandpaper. I did that but my clock still stopped. Sprayed a little WD40 on the gears and it has been working for the past month.

I did not remove the vent itself, will look into that.
Also, what is the best grip of sandpaper, is there a certain number grip
that should be used or just a super fine paper.

JUSBAD -- a '76 assembly instruction manual (AIM) will be a big help to you. Do you have a '76 owner's manual? Order both.

I would use 1000 grit or anything in that range you have around. It has got to be the most unusal clock I ever saw. When the points contact each other it rewinds itself. My clock would run but would stop before the it would cylce completly to another rewind. I guess there was a tad to much resistance in the gears/shaft. A little WD40 did the trick.
Make sure you connect a battery up to it for a couple of hours to ensure it will keep working.

If you got the side screw and the two under the consol thats all thas holding it in. Other then possible the radio. If its a **** type undo where the shafts come through the plate.

The trick is to get the light at the very top to clear the dash pad...its above the vents (if you have vents). Pull down on the guage plate...should see two wires connected by two bolts...they sometimes get hung up...you may have to undo them before pulling it out. You may also have to remove that bulb. Once you have that stuff out of the way pull out from the top...should come out enough to get at the harness...disconnect it.
