I have a replacement engine on the way for my 79. My car is black with a tan interior. My engine compartment is black, and the replacement engine is black too. Not that I have anything against black, but I figured I could make the engine stand out with some of these high temperature engine paints that are available. I was thinking of something along the line of red, maybe something metallic. I would like to SEE and hear your ideas. Please post some pics if you have them. Thanks!
try por-15 ford red engine paint. i did my block and all suspension parts w/it, looks very wet. see my pics
Very nice pics, that "wet" look is just the ticket, I just won't tell any body that it is "Ford" red on my Chevy. How did you apply the POR 15? how long is the dry time? and I assume it is durable from their ads. Can you tell me more?
By the way, your car looks fantastic, exceptional detailing, no cost spared, all top shelf, very nice.

You are not limited to spray paint when it comes to your engine. You can use automotive paint on your engine in any color you want. I used it on mine and the guy I work with has done this for years. Engine heat doesn't bother it. Oil won't discolor it either.
