Default need advice on restoration

ive i the process of doing a body-off resto on my 72 rag and i need some ideas on how to remove the header nose bar on the front of my car.
the rivets must be a little rusty because you can slightly see them from the outside of the nose just behind the head lights.
im going to replace the bonding strip and header bar but cant figure out how to remove it.does it get ground out?i dont want to pry it,
if anyone has done it before,im all ears
thanks ,Adam

Try doing an advanced search on rivets in C3 general and tech/perf areas, including archives. Lot's of past questions/answers. I've asked this same question before myself. Good luck

Steel header bar is riveted to the bonding strip (hence the rivets and rivet head problem). Bonding strip is, in turn, bonded to the hood surround panel.

You should be able to break the bond between the surround panel and the bonding strip with a chisel or similiar tool.

Mark the position of the bonding strip before you dig in. You will need to position the new bonding strip come rebond time.

Good illustration of how it went together in the assembly instruction manual (AIM).
